WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY, 2023

May 28th

CAMPAIGN FOR WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2023

This is a campaign aimed to create awareness about menstrual hygiene and advocating for policies and practices that support menstrual health and hygiene for all.

This is an organized by Idu Chukwuebuka Franklin in collaboration with Cupid Peaceland Initiative which started in the LAWSA HEALTH WEEK, dated from 22nd May to 30th May, 2023.

We all should be committed in raising awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. Menstrual hygiene is not just about the use of sanitary products, but also about ensuring that girls and women have access to clean water, toilets, and proper education about menstrual health.

Unfortunately, many girls and women around the world still face barriers when it comes to managing their menstruation. In some cultures, menstruation is still considered taboo and is not openly discussed, leading to shame and isolation for those who experience it. Additionally, many girls and women lack access to adequate menstrual hygiene products, forcing them to use unhygienic materials like rags or leaves, which can lead to infections and other health problems.

It is important to remember that menstrual hygiene is not just a women’s issue, but a human rights issue. Everyone has a role to play in breaking the stigma and ensuring that girls and women have access to the resources they need to manage their menstruation with dignity and safety.

As we carry on this campaign/sensitization let us commit to raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and advocating for policies and practices that support menstrual health and hygiene for all. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that every girl and woman can manage her menstruation with dignity and confidence.

In view of the above we solicit your corporation and support to achieve mensuration as normal and fact come 2030!

Thank you very much as you do.
